A 7.5 magnitude earthquake caused devastation along Japan’s western coast which tragically killed nearly 90 people and over 200 people are missing.
The quake shook the Noto Peninsula in the central prefecture of Ishikawa on Monday, 1 January 2024, collapsing buildings, sparking fires and triggering tsunami alerts.
Our response plan status has been activated and we have taken steps to ensure we can respond to both local and multinational clients with property in the area. There are still many transportation restrictions in place but we are supporting clients at this early stage of response.
The priority at this time is the search and rescue response but we believe the worst affected areas are in the centre of Wajima City, the Ishikawa prefecture and adjacent areas including Toyama, Niigata and Nagano.
Crawford Forensic Accounting Â鶹Çø teams are also on standby to assist with business interruption claims.
