Bobby Phillips, Assistant Vice President, Managing Executive General Adjusters GTS, started with Crawford in November 2020 and is based in Arkansas. Although he’s new to Crawford, Bobby has been in the industry for over 25 years as an independent adjuster where he focused primarily on inland marine, heavy equipment and transportation claims.
“In a sense,” says Bobby, “I grew up in the business since my father retired as a master truck mechanic and owned his own small trucking business.”
The company’s core values, RESTORE, and the people within the company are important to Bobby. Being supplied with the proper tools, networking opportunities inside and outside Crawford, and resources have been vital for professional growth within the company.
“The people are great and easy to get along with, which really enhances the workplace environment. I enjoy working with Crawford Global Technical 鶹 and the leadership style of our President, Paul Kottler.”
A snapshot of a typical workweek for Bobby looks like working claims and accounting management for inland marine and heavy complex equipment. When Bobby heads into the field to inspect a claim, he needs to agree to a repair price and finalize a report to go back to the client, and ultimately, the policyholder.
“I also manage a team of seven adjusters,” says Bobby, “who are also focused on inland marine and heavy equipment claims.”
Bobby and his team are able to provide a service that allows business owners to get back to work.
“When their equipment is down,” says Bobby, “Then they’re out of commission. The work we do, adjusting heavy equipment losses, is important to getting the owner’s doors open again.”
To Bobby, the future of adjusting will look more virtual, but having that niche expertise is the key to being successful. With new innovative technology that moves adjusting to a remote environment and digital experience, customer service will remain front of mind and make the difference to Crawford clients.
“I’m very excited for these digital changes,” said Bobby.
When Bobby isn’t working on inland marine and heavy equipment claims, you can find him in the sky.
“I have my general aviation pilot’s license and I love to fly my plane,” said Bobby.
On the ground, Bobby restores classic cars with his sons and spending time with his wife, five sons and the cattle they just added to their property in Arkansas.
