When Crawford incepted its Office of Inclusion & Diversity, it signaled a formal commitment to a culture of inclusion. The company has always understood the value of a diverse workforce and steadily increased its focus through programs likes Women LEAD. However, 2020 brought significant progress as the office rolled out several new projects, including unconscious bias training and the development of an employee advisory council and two employee resource groups. As one of the first ERG’s created for Crawford, ZEAL Women and Allies has been busy demonstrating the power in embracing diversity.
Tenesha Frazier-Levett, ZEAL’s Global Ambassador, commented:

While the number of there is still an opportunity to improve. Professional development is a key strategic priority of ZEAL to support their members’ varying career aspirations. The group also strives to increase member recognition, promote educational and leadership opportunities and facilitate an inclusive cultural ecosystem within Crawford to build stronger relationships across the organization. Additionally, ZEAL plans to participate in community investment activities and to support the recruitment and retention of diverse talent at Crawford.
Since its creation, ZEAL has been active, with no plans of slowing down. The group has formed six chapters across the U.S., with plans to expand globally, created a Breast Cancer Awareness campaign and hosted a Dress for Success Clothing drive.
March is Women’s History Month in the U.S., and ZEAL is hosting its first women’s conference. The half-day event will feature a panel discussion, breakout sessions and a keynote speaker. The members also plan to participate in the International Women’s Day #ChooseToChallenge campaign, a social media campaign, asking people to commit to challenging bias and discrimination in society while also seeking out and celebrating women’s achievements.
With much to accomplish, the members of ZEAL are undeterred in their mission. “We are poised with great expectations and lofty goals. We remain committed to our members and showcasing their talents and experience to make a positive impact not just on Crawford but also in our local communities,” continued Frazier-Levett.
