, a Crawford Company and leading third-party administrator of workers compensation claims, liability claims and medical management services, has once again received accreditations from URAC in the areas of workers’ compensation utilization management and independent review organization. During the auditing process, which included reviews of policy and procedures, evidence to support those policies and interviews across the organization, there were no negative findings. This is an exceptional outcome, given how difficult it can be for a large organization to maintain tight control over the audited areas.
URAC, an independent, nonprofit organization, is a leader in promoting health care quality through accreditation and certification programs. URAC's standards keep pace with the rapid changes in the health care system and provide a mark of distinction for health care organizations to demonstrate their commitment to quality and accountability. Through its broad-based governance structure and an inclusive standards development process, URAC ensures that all stakeholders are represented when setting meaningful standards for the health care industry.
These accreditations, which must be renewed every three years, demonstrate Broadspire’s commitment to the delivery of end-to-end, consistently high-quality services. The fact that Broadspire has a large number of international employees has the potential to create a challenge during the audits. However, management was able to work through that headwind with the teamwork and leadership of Crawford’s Global Business Service Center. This demonstrates the type of coordination and compliance necessary for these accreditations.

Most of the states in which Broadspire operates require these accreditations. Even in places where they are not required, the review process helps ensure quality and consistency across all services. This keeps us in line with all jurisdictional guidelines.
URAC looked at various metrics, including turnaround time and peer review services, to determine our status. Broadspire met or exceeded expectations in these compliance areas demonstrating how we are a benchmark for the rest of the industry.
